Great Visits to the School this September and October

What a successful visit we had with 12 travelers in September. The highlight was meeting all 5 of our scholarship students and learning just how well each of them is doing in their studies. They are an inspiration for the younger students who are hopeful that it may just be them in the coming years. We have 4 scholarships once again to award to top performing students who will be taking their National Exams this December. I was also able to sit down with Geoffrey to go over the improvement projects that we would like to make over the next few years. We were all happy to see that the new library is now taking shape and hopefully when we visit again next May we can help with its progress. Once again we were entertained with cultural dances and songs which everyone enjoyed.

Dee Dee Ackerman made a visit with her group in October and they were also very impressed with both the cultural program and the new library in progress.  She and her group are helping out a third year high school student who needed some assistance with her tuition as her little brother, who is a student at the Iruri Primary School, is battling cancer.  The family had set aside the funds for their daughter that now is needed for medical expenses for their  young son.
